Join Lyrico Youth Choirs for the 2026–2027 Season

Lyrico Youth Choirs is excited to welcome new choristers for the 2026–2027 season. If your child loves to sing, we'd love to meet them.

Audition Information

Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026

Time: 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Location: Sherwood Park United Church (no affiliation)

Auditions are by appointment and take approximately five minutes.

What Happens During the Audition?

The word audition can sound intimidating, but ours are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and encouraging.

We're not looking for years of musical training or polished performers. The audition simply allows our Directors to meet your child, hear their voice, and make sure they can match simple pitches, an important foundational skill for singing in a choir. Many of our youngest choristers are just beginning their musical journey, and we fully expect those skills to continue developing throughout the season.

During the audition, your child may be asked to:

• Match a few simple pitches sung or played on the piano.

• Sing a familiar song such as Happy Birthday.

• Participate in a few short listening and musical activities.

That's it! The goal is to place every singer in an environment where they can feel confident, succeed, and enjoy making music.

Who Can Join?

We welcome singers from across the greater Edmonton area.

Junior Choir

• Grades 2 to 5

• Mondays, 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.

• Directed by Britney Huynh

Senior Choir

• Grades 6 to 12

• Mondays, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

• Directed by Kim Denis

What to Expect During the Season

A season with Lyrico includes weekly rehearsals, three major concerts at Festival Place, guest clinicians, community performances, and opportunities to build lasting friendships through music. Senior Choir also enjoys an annual overnight retreat at Camp Nakamun, while Junior Choir shares music through school tours in the community.

Throughout the year, we keep families informed with regular communication so everyone knows what to expect and feels connected to what's happening in the choir.
